The cafeteria at Aggie Roberts Elementary was buzzing with energy as Chefs for Kids delivered another unforgettable breakfast experience—complete with custom chef hats, flavorful food, and a healthy dose of learning. This event goes beyond serving a warm meal; it sparks meaningful conversations about healthy habits. 

Leading the charge is Alvin, whose vibrant personality and warm smile instantly light up the room. Students recognize him the moment he walks in as he is our lead nutrition educator for this school, and they eagerly gather to hear what he has to say. Alvin connects with every student, turning nutrition into something fun, relatable, and easy to understand.

The culinary team from UNLV prepared the morning meal with precision and care, crafting warm pancake sandwiches, chocolate muffins, and fresh fruit cups. Each tray comes complete with white or chocolate milk, courtesy of Anderson Dairy. Adding a refreshing twist, Jamba Juice serves up their signature smoothies, which are always a favorite among the students. The combined efforts of these culinary partners bring more than just breakfast to the table—they create a morning filled with joy, nourishment, and inspiration.

Before the students arrived, teachers and staff enjoyed a quiet breakfast of their own—a chance to fuel up with a hot meal before the school day picked up speed. Chefs for Kids believes in showing gratitude to the educators who make a difference every single day, recognizing the energy and dedication they bring into their classrooms everyday.

Excitement grew as the first group of students entered the cafeteria. With volunteers handing out a Chefs for Kids hat to each child, students were ready to join the breakfast line in style. Trays in hand, the students grabbed their meals and sat down with excitement, ready to dig in. As the Jamba Juice team is making their way around the cafeteria, personally serving each student a smoothie with a smile, several students begin clinking their cups together – a smooth smoothie toast!

Meanwhile, Alvin begins making the rounds – his presence turning the cafeteria into more than just a dining space. Now, it’s a classroom filled with curiosity and joy. He reminds students that food isn’t just for filling your belly—it’s fuel to help you grow strong, stay healthy, and be your best. Alvin does more than just teach—he connects, he inspires, and he leaves a lasting impression.

The kids finish their breakfast, tidy up their tables, and begin to make their exit, but not before giving a heartfelt group “Thank You” to the chefs and everyone who made this morning magic happen. We bid a fond farewell to the students until next time.
