Cause Shopping for The Holidays

It’s that time of the year where budgets get tight as we make room for purchasing holiday gifts for our loved ones, planning travels home to see family, and attending holiday parties galore. But even if your budget is stretched thin, there are still a few ways you can make a difference for our organization this holiday season, and all year round. 

We’ve rounded up four of the easiest ways you can get involved in cause shopping, where a portion of your purchase will benefit Chefs for Kids.

Smith’s Inspiring Donations

If you haven’t done so already, make sure you link your Smith’s Shoppers Card to Chefs for Kids via their Inspiring Donations program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to Chefs for Kids based on the shopping you do every day – 5% of purchases. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at Smith’s and swipe your Shopper’s Card. No extra money required. Click here to get started and link your card today! 

Amazon Smile

Planning to do most of your holiday shopping online? Make sure you link your Amazon account to donate to Chefs for Kids! Unlike the Smith’s Inspiring Donations program, there’s a little more work to be done here, and it can get a bit confusing, so we want to make sure you understand how to give our charity the most out of your everyday purchases. Their system is a little bit different whether you’re shopping on a desktop browser, or via the app.

1. If you use both an internet browser and the app to make your purchases, you MUST sign up twice to make sure we’re always receiving a donation. Doing one of these does not automatically apply to your account on the other.
   1. To sign up on an internet browser from your desktop, tablet, or mobile device, go to smile.amazon.com and login with your regular account credentials. In the top left corner you will see a “supporting” navigation item which you can click on to change your charity to Chefs for Kids.
   2. To sign up via the app, simply tap on “AmazonSmile” within the Programs & Features menu, or Settings and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. When using a web browser, you MUST visit and order from smile.amazon.com for your purchase to benefit us. Make sure to bookmark this page and use it from now on!

This holiday season, your bottle of wine can have a big impact. We’ve partnered with One Hope Wines to host a fundraiser where you can use this link to buy their award-winning wines and 10% will be donated to Chefs for Kids. Amex Round-Up

American Express recently rolled out a new pilot program Amex Round-Up where select members can choose to round up their purchases to the nearest $1, $5, or $10. They’ve partnered with Philanthropi, an innovative giving and service platform, allowing card members to sign up for a free Philanthropi Impact Account, where you’ll be able to give to some of your favorite charities, Chefs for Kids included. One your Impact Account balance hits your $25 grant minimum, you will be able to grant your impact. Note – this is only available for select card members at the moment.
