Ahoy mates prepare to bid, dine and dance the night away! This year our non-profit is proud to honor Richard and Patricia Wright with the Legacy Award and UnitedHealthcare with the Corporate Award.
We thank our honorees, and you for past and future support of our work in southern Nevada. For nearly three decades, Chefs for Kids has fed and assisted with nutrition education to elementary children in southern Nevada. Here’s how our mission measures up:
Teacher placement in classrooms for monthly 30-minute healthy eating education lessons for 2nd and 3rd graders. The program, Pick a Better Snack™ serves 4,000 children each year.
Volunteers feed 10,000+ children a warm breakfast at 14 schools.
The residents of The Shade Tree Shelter receive a fabulous meal on Mother’s Day and Christmas Eve morning that includes Santa and gifts for the children.
Nearly 200 extreme need families get a meal gift card at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Volunteers donate more than 3,000 hours yearly to manage program delivery!
