Smoothie Mustaches & Pancake Smiles

Chefs for Kids’ latest Cookin’ up Breakfast event was sizzling with excitement at Arturo Cambeiro Elementary School, where Aria Resort & Casino’s culinary team served up a morning feast fit for champions, dreamers, and a whole lot of hungry students. The menu was a sunrise celebration including fluffy Egg Muffins, Chicken Apple Sausage, Aria Hashbrowns, Whole-Grain Banana Pancakes topped with maple flavored Greek yogurt (a sweet-but-nutritious swirl of happiness), and a bright fruit salad bursting with pineapple and melons.

And what’s breakfast without milk? A huge shoutout to Anderson Dairy for supplying the creamy accompaniment to every bite. The Jamba Juice team also blended up strawberry banana smoothies so good that one student ended up with a full smoothie mustache. A stylish choice, if you ask us.

Before students arrived, the teachers were the first to dig in. Armed with plates and big smiles, they made sure to capture their culinary joy with Instagram-worthy photos. If breakfast had a red carpet, the teachers were definitely the VIPs.

We were honored to welcome Councilwoman Olivia Diaz, representing Ward 3, who stopped by to enjoy the fun and see the impact of Chefs for Kids in action. Her visit helped make the day even more special for the students and staff.

Assistant Principal Alicia Norman couldn’t help but gush about the excitement on campus:

“We absolutely love this program. We’re so grateful for Chefs for Kids for selecting us as a school. I love it because it’s a school community event. It’s not for certain grade levels or for certain students. It is the entire school, so that is really special for us to just build that community and enjoy a delicious breakfast that is also nutritious for staff and students.”

She continued,

“Our staff and students absolutely love this event. It feels like an experience they wouldn’t otherwise get anywhere else. They appreciate the service and attention to detail from everyone that was here. It’s just a special day.”

And with a proud smile, she added:

“We look forward to this every time it comes around because we know that it’s a big deal, and students are just so excited. You can see it on their face, they talk about it. And so it’s just a really special event and we’re really grateful.”

The students had rave reviews of their own:

“This is literally so delicious!”

“I remember this breakfast from when I was in Kindergarten!”

One of the sweetest moments of the morning came when the Aria chefs were presented with a giant thank-you sign filled corner to corner with colorful signatures from dozens of grateful kids. A delicious meal and a heartfelt thank you. That’s a combo we’ll never get tired of.
