A Dino-mite Spring Break!
March 14, 2025

Spring Break has arrived, and that means another round of Holiday Helpings bags are making their way to food-insecure families! This time, we had some extra magic in the mix—a huge shoutout to our new friends at the City of North Las Vegas! Not only did they provide the perfect venue for our bag-stuffing extravaganza (right in the heart of the schools we serve), but their amazing employees also jumped in to help pack the bags.

And let’s talk about how much fun we had! Picture this: a room full of volunteers, packing up fresh goodies while playing a Disney-themed version of 20 Questions. Every few minutes, someone would shout, “Is it a princess?” or “Does it have a sidekick?” as we tried to guess the mystery character. It was a fantastic way to keep the energy high—and if you need a fun game to entertain your kids over Spring Break, give it a try!
Now, let’s talk about what’s inside these snack-packed bags! Along with grocery store gift cards and our Eat a Rainbow Flyer and Lemon Says cards, each bag was loaded with fresh, colorful produce:
🫐 Blueberries
🌶️ Red and yellow bell peppers
🥒 Cucumbers
🥦 Broccoli
🥕 Carrots
🌼 Cauliflower
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
But the real star? Families can use these vibrant veggies to recreate an adorable, prehistoric dino scene—because who wouldn’t want to snack on something that looks straight out of the Jurassic era?

Go ahead, give it a try because your little dinosaurs are going to devour this tasty tray of veggies and fruits (truth: bell peppers are fruits!). Get the recipe at The Baton Rouge Clinic website!
All in all, we estimate these bags provided 1800 meals, 2160 healthy snacking opportunities, and countless smiles to the 120 families who received them. A special thank you to our friends at MGM Resorts International for helping fund this Holiday Helpings. We hope everyone had a dino-mite Spring Break—until next time!
