Paving the way to a Good Morning!
April 2, 2025

There’s nothing like a warm, hearty breakfast to kick off a great day of learning—and thanks to the incredible team at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa and our generous friends at Las Vegas Paving, students at Marion Cahlan Elementary School were treated to just that!
Chef Jamie Poltrock and the talented culinary team at South Point cooked up a mouthwatering morning meal as part of our Cookin’ Up Breakfast program. On the menu: a warm breakfast sandwich, crispy hashbrowns, a fresh banana, and a cool, creamy GoGurt! And let’s not forget our amazing partners at Jamba Juice, who were on-site blending up their always-popular strawberry banana smoothies—always a hit with the kids!

But this event was about more than just delicious food. Cookin’ Up Breakfast is an immersive experience that teaches children about the importance of healthy eating in a real-world setting. By watching professional chefs prepare nutritious meals and getting to taste balanced breakfasts, students learn what it means to fuel their bodies the right way. It’s one thing to talk about healthy choices in a classroom—it’s another to taste it, see it, and experience the joy of it firsthand.

With the help of our volunteers—including CSN students and Las Vegas Paving, who jumped in to help serve—we delivered far more than just a meal. We served up smiles, encouragement, and a whole lot of love. For many of these students, this breakfast is more than just something to eat—it’s a moment to feel seen, supported, and truly cared for by their community.

And that’s what Chefs for Kids is all about. Through programs like Cookin’ Up Breakfast, we bring together chefs, sponsors, schools, and volunteers to nourish both body and spirit—investing in our kids’ health, happiness, and future success.
Thank you, South Point and Las Vegas Paving, for helping us cook up kindness, one breakfast at a time. Your support makes mornings like this possible—and unforgettable.
Stay tuned—there are plenty more heartwarming moments (and tasty meals!) to come.
